Dealing with hurtful comments

Many people are worried about the comments that others make, especially the hurtful ones. We may feel upset or threatened by rude or malicious comments, especially if they are made without reason. Sometimes, there may be a reason, but even so, it is not justified. 

When you hear or read hurtful comments, remember that there is a Word of God for you. ‘Do not fear the words of sinners, for their splendour will turn into dung and worms.’ (1 Maccabees 2:62) Just brush off any type of comment that hurts or wounds you, for these are the words of sinners and they have no power over us. If you are still holding onto hurtful words, let go and pray for the person who used them. Their words will never have an impact on you, and their words will never have authority over you. You are a child of God, so do not fear the words of sinners, for their splendour will turn into dung and worms.
