“Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” (Psalm 100:3)
Are you happy and proud to declare your faith? This question is something we all need to ponder on. Do we actually happily and proudly say we’re Roman Catholics and profess our faith? Without thinking or having to worry about the consequences of saying or doing so, without giving much thought as to how others would judge you.
It’s quite certain that all of us or at least some of us have been in situations where in one had or has some apprehensions or reservations to openly declare that one is a Roman Catholic. These could be due to various reasons such as fear of missing out on crucial opportunities, fear of prejudice, fear of persecution, fear of discrimination, other insecurities, peer pressure and other factors- social, cultural, political etc.
“Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.” ( Matthew 10:32)
Most often, one would voluntarily and intentionally try to conceal one’s religion/faith just to fit into the social circles, to gain better educational opportunities or employment/ promotion and there could myriad reasons for doing so.
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” ( Matthew 6:33)
One should never feel awkward nor should one be ashamed to state that he / she is a Roman Catholic.. a practicing Roman Catholic.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John3:16)
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding ” (Proverbs 9:10). It probably takes time, maturity and Spiritual understanding to realise that Our God is an awesome God.
“If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.” (1 John 4:15)
We should happily and proudly acknowledge Our Lord and that we believe in the Holy Trinity, Mother Mary, St. Joseph. When we do this without having any inhibitions or reservations, it is the best thing one can do as a devoted Roman Catholic.
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight ” (Proverbs 3:6)
“ And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God ” (Luke 12:8).
We need to honour, praise and worship the Holy Trinity along with Blessed Mother Mary at all times irrespective of any circumstances.
“The Son of God became man for our salvation but only in Mary and through Mary.” –Saint Louis Marie de Montfort
“We never give more honour to Jesus than when we honour his Mother, and we honour her simply and solely to honour him all the more perfectly. We go to her only as a way leading to the goal we seek – Jesus, her Son.” –Saint Louis Marie de Montfort
“The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23).
If we want to part of God’s Kingdom we need to be able to be devoted Roman Catholics and only then can we be part of Evangelisation.
Nothing and no other identity can ever give an individual more happiness, joy and peace of being known as a Roman Catholic than any other identity. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5)
Praise and Thank You Abba Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Mother Mary, St Joseph and all the angels and saints.
