Examine first, then criticise

Since we have so many varieties of social media, we tend to get many different articles,videos and messages. Sometimes, negative news about certain individuals, gossip about priests, individuals, celebrities, institutions, ministries and organizations. When we receive such messages, it is a human tendency to share it widely and blindly. Sometimes even without reading it completely, we share it. 

But remember, before you share any messages or articles, whether it is regarding a priest, celebrities, individual or any other ministries, please read this word of God and follow the word of God – Sirach 11:7- “Do not find fault before you investigate, examine first and then criticize”.

Do not fault anyone just because you got a message or an article. You should investigate and try to examine the whole story. Anything you receive, make sure you have your individual and independent investigation done, and then only you should criticize. Even when you criticize, do it  with an intention to correct it, not to destroy and defame the person. We need to encourage the person and help the person to walk in holiness.

So, examine our conscience and check if we have at any time shared any messages, articles or forwards without even thinking twice, without investigating if it is true or not, and sharing it and containmating the minds of others. Lord, we ask forgiveness if we have done this and the Lord will bless you.
